Black members of WIF are invited to join the Black Member Forum (BMF) and the BMF Writers Group for a fascinating conversation with writer/ producer Kendra Chapman. Come join the discussion as Chapman talks about her work; shares her perspective on the challenges of being a Black woman in the business; and offers insights for success. Please note that this gathering is specifically for Black members.

About Kendra Chapman (Writer/Producer)

Kendra Chanae Chapman is a writer and producer who is currently staffed as an executive story editor on an upcoming STARZ series. She is also serving as a mentor for the 2020 Launch Pad TV Pilot competition. Previously, Kendra was a writer on EMERGENCE for ABC and DESIGNATED SURVIVOR for Netflix, and produced a short film, 19 WEEKS, with Cinestar and producer Liz Destro (CAKE, THE BUTLER, SMILF), which made its debut via PopSugar.

She is also known for developing and executive producing AVANT-GUARDIANS, a 7-episode web series that was awarded Best Drama/Dramedy Short Form at the New York Television Festival and featured at the American Black Film Festival and LA Film Festival 2018. An African American writer originally from the South Side of Chicago, Kendra is using her eclectic background as inspiration for her work. Kendra holds a BFA in dramaturgy from Carnegie Mellon University.
